REZONING PETITION: Residents Against Apartment Development | News
On Monday’s meeting, Waukee City Council voted unanimously to approve a rezoning an area just east of Waukee's South Middle School.
The rezoning would allow an apartment complex to be built there but some residents aren’t happy with the proposal. Some say the new build could drive down prices while others go further saying they wouldn’t have chosen to live in the area if they knew this was in the pipeline.
According to resident, Erik Krieger, at least 70 people have so far signed a petition against the rezoning.
The rezoning, by law, has to be approved three times. The next meeting is April 1st. Homeowner, Sara Rumph says they’ll be several residents attending that meeting to share their views.
