WASTEWATER DISCHARGE: 2,000 Gallons Leak In Creek
The City of Waukee discovered a discharge of untreated wastewater February 5th caused by a leak in an air relief value in the force main. About 2,000 gallons of untreated wastewater flowed to a nearby creek.
According to the DNR, the leak was patched on the same day and permanent repairs were completed on the 6th. Wastewater was pumped to a nearby lift station while repairs were made.
