CITY SPENDING: Fund Injection Under Review | Business
The city of Waukee hope to increase spending in the2013/14 fiscal year with property tax remaining the same.
The Des Moines Register reports that the City will spend about $7.1 million, an increase of $500,000 or 6.9 percent beginning July 1st.
The extra funds are under review by the City Council and would boost police, fire, economic development and library.
If agreed upon, the city’s property tax rate will remain at $13.50 per $1,000 of assessed value.
The Register reports that the increased spending will be paid for with additional property tax revenue generated by new businesses and homeowners.
