VALLEY TRAIL: New Installation Proposed | Arts & Culture
Raccoon River Valley Trail could be getting a new art installation.
A Waukee community arts consortium has gained approval from the City and is now set for its first public meeting.
The art piece would be placed at the trail head, located at the intersection of Hickman Road and Co Hwy R22.
“We hope that everyone will join us for this brainstorming session to gather information toward the creation of this art work,” said Jim Miller, Public Art Committee Chair. “It is envisioned to be iconic in nature and a highly visible symbol of the current and future Waukee community.”
The meeting will be held Wednesday, April 24th from 6:30–8 p.m. at the Waukee Community Schools Administrative Building, 560 SE University Ave.
It is expected that funding for the piece will be provided through grants and donations but it would owned and maintained by the City.
