Living History Farms Celebrates Iowa Museum Day | Arts & Culture
With Governor Branstad proclaiming Saturday, May 14 as Iowa Museum Day, local communities and organizations including Living History Farms are celebrating.
The proclamation was to create awareness about the importance of museums in the state and preserving historical pieces as educational resources for future generations.
To celebrate the special occasion, Living History Farms is hosting a Farmer’s Carnival on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15.
Saturday’s events start off at 1:00 p.m. and will include a small town fair, pony rides for children, pipe organs, 25 musicians, and carnival games.
Sunday’s events will feature members of the Carousel Organ Association performing their music for the crowd. At 2:00 p.m., there will also be a baseball game with rules from the year 1870. Free refreshments will be provided.
